Ingredients:
- 6–7 potatoes
- 200 g bacon
- 1 onion
- 100 g mozzarella cheese
- 380 ml heavy cream (30%)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Slice the potatoes into rounds and boil them in salted water until tender. Drain and set aside.
- Cut the bacon into thin strips and cook in a dry, hot pan until golden and crispy.
- Add the onion, sliced into thin half-moons, and sauté together with the bacon until soft and fragrant.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the potatoes on the bottom. Spoon over the bacon and onion mixture, then cover with the remaining potatoes.
- Pour the rich cream over the dish, season with pepper, and sprinkle the top with shredded mozzarella.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 25–30 minutes, until the top is beautifully golden and bubbling.
